We provide access to over 2 million U.S.-registered nonprofits, giving you the flexibility to support both local and national causes.

Your donation is made to our nonprofit partner, Make My Donation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) donor-advised fund (DAF). They process your donation and distribute funds to your selected charity. Your tax receipt will reflect the DAF for compliance purposes.

The recipient receives a personalized digital card by text or email showing your message, the charity you selected, and, if you choose, the donation amount.

You can choose to send your gift via SMS, email, or both. The recipient receives a secure link that opens their personalized card instantly—no login required.

If you wish to remain anonymous to the recipient, simply type "A Secret Pal" or "Anonymous" in the "Sent From" field. Your legal name will still appear on your private tax receipt.

That’s up to you. At checkout, you can choose whether to show or hide the donation amount on the recipient’s card. If you choose to hide it, the card will simply display “A generous donation” instead of the amount.

This is how you sign your gift. You can use your own name, a family name (e.g., "The Smith Family"), or even a group name (e.g., "The ABC Team"). This is the name the recipient will see on their card to know who it is from.

The person who makes the donation receives the tax receipt for the charitable donation. The receipt is issued in connection with the donation processed through our nonprofit partner.

Only the donation portion of your payment may be tax-deductible. If you choose to add an optional support for GivingPals, that portion is not tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt for your donation, and we recommend consulting your tax advisor for specific guidance.

Yes. You’ll receive a receipt and a link to view your gift via the email provided at checkout.

Yes. You can create your gift now and schedule it to be delivered on a specific date.

If your gift is scheduled for a future date, please contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to update the recipient’s email address or phone number before the gift is delivered. If the gift has already been delivered, you can share the gift link directly with the recipient so they can view their personalized card.

Once your donation is complete, the donation amount, charity, recipient name, card message, and other gift details cannot be changed. If your gift is scheduled for a future date, we may be able to update the recipient’s email address or phone number or adjust the scheduled delivery date. Please contact us for assistance.

Yes. The “View Card” button in your confirmation email contains a shareable link to the personalized card. You can send this link directly to the recipient by email, text, WhatsApp, or another messaging service.

“In honor of” recognizes or celebrates someone who is living — for birthdays, milestones, appreciation, get-well wishes, or other meaningful occasions. “In memory of” honors and remembers someone who has passed away.

For memorial gifts, you’ll enter the name of the person being remembered and the contact information of the recipient — typically a family member or loved one. The recipient will receive the personalized digital card.

Yes. Payments are securely processed through Stripe using industry-standard security measures. GivingPals does not store your full payment card details.
